Meg + Scott Wedding | Trump Hotel Chicago | PFC Milton Olive Park | North Avenue Beach

maybe it is the fact that meg is teacher ~ maybe it's that we both trust the same amazing hair stylist, tommy, to do our hair ~ maybe it's that she collects vintage purses ~ maybe it's that you can talk to meg for one minute and feel relaxed, like you are chatting with an old friend ~ or perhaps it is her huge heart and warm personality ~ or perhaps it was all of the above that made me so freakin' excited to photograph her wedding!! yep, that's it. it was all of the above!

meg and her mom, mary, met me in bucktown at one of my fave hangouts, cortland's garage. over burgers and beer we got to know one another and the longer we talked the more i got excited about sharing in her and scott's wedding day.

meg + scott wanted a simple wedding. something small and romantic. something personal. they nailed it!  we started at the trump hotel chicago and the ladies [ myself include...thanks mary :) ] noshed on a yummy lunch. the gents, just a few floors above, sipped, what i was told to be a very fine bourbon.  we held their first look on the side walk just outside the hotel and then headed to the lakeshore [ pfc milton olive park ] for an intimate ceremony with meg + scott's parents, meg's brother, myself and reverend jim.  there was not a dry eye and tears streamed down my face as well.  this wedding was very special. and i was honored to be invited to share in this awesome wedding.

we all hoped back into the limo and headed to north avenue beach for some portraits along the lake.  the weather was beautiful and i always love to hear strangers express their happiness to the newlyweds.

meg, scott and their family had a lovely dinner at le bouchon in bucktown and then headed back to their suite at the trump where they were joined by some friends to continue the celebration.  meg told me that the other patrons at the restaurant cheered as their cake was brought out and that they had an amazing day!!

below are some of my favorite photos from this awesome intimate wedding.  i apologize in advance for the order of the photos...i am blogging while traveling in italy and the formatting is a bit screwy :)  enjoy!!
